• PE จะมีความแข็งแรง เหนียว ทนทาน ไม่ฉีกขาดง่าย และยืดหยุ่นในระดับหนึง ถุง PE นั้นมีสีค่อนข้างใส และมีคุณสมบัติทีดี ในการกันความชื้นมิให้ผ่านเข้าออก แต่มีข้อเสียคือไม่สามารถกันก๊าซซึมผ่าน และไม่ทนต่อน้ำมันหรือไขมัน นอกจากนั้น ถุง PE หรือถุงเย็น ยังไม่สามารถทนต่อความร้อน ได้สูงมากนัก แต่สามาถทนความเย็นได้ถึง -100 องศาฟาเรนไฮ คนนิยมนำถุงเย็นมาแพคอาหารที่ต้องเก็บช่องแช่แข็ง หรือตู้เย็น เนื่องจากเนื้อฟิลม์ สามารถทนความเย็นได้มาก และยังนำมาบรรจุชิ้นงาน เพราะความเหนียวของเนื้อฟิลม์ ทำให้ถุงไม่แตก หรือ ฉีกขาดง่าย เมื่อต้องมีการขนย้ายสินค้า หรือขูดขีดจากสินค้าที่อยู่ด้านใน
• LLDPE เม็ดพลาสติก PE อีกประเภทหนึ่ง ชื่อว่า  Linear Low Density Polyethylene (LLDPE) เป็นเม็ดพลาสติกที่นิยม นำมาผสมกับเม็ด LDPE เพื่อเพิ่มความเหนียวให้กับผลิตภัณฑ์ แต่ก็สามารถนำมาขึ้นเป่าเป็นถุงพลาสติกได้โดยตรง เม็ดพลาสติก LLDPE เมื่อเป่าด้วยกระบวนการผ่านน้ำแล้ว ถุงที่ได้จะมีความใส สวย นิ่ม และ เหนียว แต่การเป่าถุง LLDPE จะไม่นิยมเป่าให้มีความบางมาก เนื่องจาก ถุง LLDPE หากบางมาก จะเปิดปากได้ยาก และอาจทำให้การใช้งานไม่สะดวกเท่าที่ควร
